Brutus
10 year old male neutered dachshund
Physical Rehabilitation patient from August 2008 to present!
In August of 2008, our 10 year old dachshund injured his back legs and
could not walk. We heard about an office that had physical therapy for
animals and called. My husband and I were invited to visit and see for
ourselves the equipment and process the therapists used. We were very
pleased with the progress they achieved with other dogs and decided we wanted to
try their plan for Brutus. Brutus weighed 23.1 lbs at the time and they
suggested different food and medicine to lose weight which is one reason his
back legs were weak. After one week of both the water treadmill and
numerous balancing drills, we could see a remarkable improvement. Brutus
continued with the treadmill and by February 2009, he had lost over 6 lbs.
He is like a puppy again and has so much energy. The staff and
doctors at Best Care are professional and care about each animal and their
owners as family. Besides Brutus, you can see how happy every dog is to
come to the office. My husband and I have and will continue to recommend
Best Care to our friends and anyone looking for a excellent Veterinary Hospital.

Brutus continues to come exercise twice a week for 30 minutes
in the underwater treadmill, every week!!
Gypsy
10 year old female spayed German Shorthaired Pointer
Rehabilitation patient from January 2009 to March 2009
In January of 2009, Gypsy underwent major knee surgery at
Best Care Animal Hospital. The surgery was performed by Dr. Elliott.
The post-op visits for rehab and physical therapy were great. Her
therapist was Gwenn. Besides weekly therapy, we were instructed how to
continue the therapy at home...application of ice and range of motion for the
joints and muscles. Now, 10 months later, the only sign of surgery is a
thin scar. We would recommend the therapy at Best Care Animal Hospital to
any and everyone. There were no problems or questions. They were
great!
Denise
Thank you All Pets Animal Hospital for referring Gypsy to us
for surgery and rehabilitation!
Moe
12 year old male Yorkie
Rehabilitation patient from June 2009 to August 2009
My thanks and appreciation to Gwenn and staff who provided rehabilitation
to my yorkie "Moe". He had surgery due to trouble on his left rear leg
and previously on his right rear leg which affected his walking, this past June
of 2009. The rehabilitation given to him was unbelievable, he
healed faster, made a full recovery and now walks as if nothing had ever been
wrong. Also, the love and care he was given by everyone was as if he was their
"Moe". I can't thank you enough, Moe thanks you too!

Maci
5 year old female spayed chocolate Lab
Rehabilitation patient from January 2009 to August 2009
January 1, 2009 Maci injured her right rear leg while outside
playing. January 22, 2009 Maci had surgery to correct a torn cranial
cruciate ligament along with removing the torn menisci. On January 23,
2009 Maci was released from the hospital with a recommendation of rehabilitation
therapy for Maci.
Gwenn started working on Maci and almost immediately we saw
positive results and progress with her recuperation. On March 24, 2009,
Maci was in the back yard and it happened again, only this time it was on
her left side. This was totally unbelievable. Maci now needed
surgery on her left leg. Gwenn was still working on building up Maci's
right leg and now this. Maci was almost totally crippled from these two
back to back injuries. It was determined that Gwenn needed a few weeks to
build up Maci's right leg before Dr. Elliott could do surgery on her left.
My wife and I thought this was impossible and that Maci would be crippled
forever. Well, the impossible became the possible due to Gwenn Allen and
her devotion to the art of rehabilitation. What Gwenn did with Maci was an
absolute miracle. Maci is again a playful, full of life, typical Labrador
retriever today because of Gwenn Allen and her dedication to the rehabilitation
of dogs.

Maci, relaxing after therapy!
Looty
10 year old female spayed mixed breed
Rehabilitation patient from June 2009 to October 2009
We can't thank you enough for the wonderful results we have
seen from Looty's post-surgical physical therapy sessions. As you recall,
Looty first tore the CCL in her left rear leg, and then proceeded to tear the
CCL in her right rear leg several weeks later.
Dr. Griffin performed the first surgery and at the time,
recommended post-operative physical therapy at your facility after her stitches
were removed as it would rebuild her muscle tone and speed-up the healing
process. We relied upon Dr. Griffin's opinion and are pleased that we
did. Even with Looty's setback of her second injury and same surgical
procedure on her other leg by Dr. Griffin, both legs have responded exceedingly
well to her physical therapy treatments.
Today, Looty is happy, healthy, and active. Except for
traces of having had her legs shaved for surgery and faded surgical scars, she
does not exhibit any signs of her injuries.
Than you again for not only your rehabilitative expertise,
but the manner in which you handled Looty. Your ability, care, concern,
and genuine warmth all contributed to Looty's recuperative process.

Hanz
13 year old male neutered German Shepard
Rehabilitation patient from July 2008 through May 2009
Hanz was diagnosed with a neurological disease called
Degenerative Myelopathy. Hanz's amazing spirit was the same as always, but
his mobility was affected. He needed assistance to walk. This was an
extremely difficult time. I knew we needed a hospital with tremendous
knowledge on how to care for him with compassion and sensitivity. Dr.
Elliott gave me a precise plan created by the renowned Dr. Clemmons, that I
carefully followed. In time, Hanz began walking independently! Dr.
Elliott and Gwenn Allen gave Hanz outstanding care, their kindness, patience and
understanding was greatly appreciated. Hanz's strength and determination
was remarkable. Dr. Elliott and Gwenn Allen improved Hanz's quality of
life. Every time Hanz and I went to rehab every session was completely
thorough. They were always supportive, polite and gentle. I wanted
to do everything I could to help Hanz, so I was very attentive to everything
they did. I truly got to know them from all of our frequent visits.
I can tell you, Dr. Elliott and Gwenn Allen are intelligent professionals with
pleasant dispositions who are resourceful and caring. I would like to give
a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Elliott and Gwenn Allen. Without any
hesitation, I would highly recommend Best Care Animal Hospital. It's no
wonder why its called "Best Care Animal Hospital".
On May 24th 2009, Hanz passed away at home. In sickness
and in health, Hanz was extraordinary! I cherish all the good times we
had. He will always be in my heart with love and his beautiful spirit and
legacy will never die. I am forever grateful for having Hanz in my life.
Rest in peace Hanz
